We all want to be happier, right? If you’re looking for ideas on how to inject a dose of joy into each and every day, then look no further! Read our 8 ways to make today a happy day:

  1. Be Grateful

Every morning when you wake up, think of one thing you’re grateful for – it could be a warm, cosy bed, the friend you’re meeting later in the day, a new episode of your favourite show or anything that sparks joy in your heart. What a positive way to start your day!

  1. Make Time To Laugh

A laugh a day keeps the gloom at bay! When we laugh, our bodies are swamped with feel-good endorphins. Seek out things that make you laugh, like your favourite comedian or that one friend who always has you in stitches.

  1. Do Something You Love

Every single day. Even if you only have 10 minutes to spare, make sure you do one thing every day that makes you happy. You deserve it.

  1. Spread The Love

Being kind to others makes us feel all warm and happy inside. Volunteer to help a charity, help a friend with a tricky assignment, take your neighbour’s bin out or give your parents a hand around the house. You’ll make someone’s day, plus you’ll feel good about yourself. 

  1. Don’t Beat Yourself Up

If you’ve made a mistake or have a niggling regret, stop giving yourself a hard time. Address any apologies or fixes you need to make, apologise, and move on. Learn how to forgive yourself and focus on making better choices in the future.

  1. Snooze Yourself Happy

Are you getting enough sleep? We need sleep to grow, rest and recuperate, and yet many of us have difficulty drifting off or fail to get the recommended 8-10 hours of sleep.   1. Love Yourself

This isn’t always easy, we know, but loving yourself and accepting who you are can go a long way to making yourself happy. Try to stop comparing yourself to others and focus on building up your own body positivity. Click here for more tips.

  1. Exercise

Sometimes you just don’t feel like exercising, we get it. But doing a little bit of exercise every day really does make you happy. If the gym isn’t your thing, take yourself for a walk in the fresh air or try a workout routine at home – even a quick 20-minute blast of exercise can set you up for the day!

Sometimes it’s the little things that bring a smile to our face. Clean, crisp sheets on our bed, an extra sprinkling of mini marshmallows on a mug of hot choc, an unexpected goal in the 89th minute of a football game… the list goes on.
