Hump Day Happiness!

Charge your midweek mood with these feel-good activities…

It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means… it’s nearly the weekend! Celebrate your successes so far this week and set yourself up for a brilliant end to your week with these ‘think happy’ activities!

Take a walk on the beach or in the countryside. Dip your feet in the cool water or run barefoot through the sand, enjoying the fresh air in your lungs and the sun on your face. Or head to your own personal outdoor happy place – the woods, a nearby park or wherever you like to go to feel free.

Head to the cinema for a midday movie night! Check out a film you’ve been wanting to see for a while or mix it up and try a genre you wouldn’t normally choose. Take a mate, grab a bucket of popcorn and kick back and relax!

Invite a friend (or a bunch of them!) over for an old-school games’ night! Dig out those board games from the back of the cupboard, dust off your Scrabble counters and get ready to flex your brain juice. It’s a great way to connect with friends and have fun (even if you do go directly to jail in Monopoly).

Netflix comedies. They’re a great go-to for a blast of happy vibes. Try Bo Burnham’s Inside, a new comedy special filmed and performed completely by Bo during lockdown, or search ‘comedy’ to find a whole range of funny films and stand-up shows.

Keep the happiness going! Share the love by paying someone a compliment. Making someone else feel good makes YOU feel good. So go spread those happy vibes, far and wide!

Hit up your friend or partner for a midweek date night! Why wait for the weekend? You can go out for a meal, go for a stroll, or have a night in with a movie and a takeaway.

Almost time for bed? Make up your bed with freshly cleaned sheets, plump your pillows, and get ready for the best night’s sleep EVER. There’s just something about clean sheets that makes the soul smile.

Plan something fun to look forward to! You might want to make plans with friends to take a trip, have a fun day out in a nearby city, or have a solo adventure in mind. Anticipation gives us energy and helps us through gloomier days.

Pet your favourite four-legged friend or scroll through your favourite Insta animal accounts for a cuteness overload of puppers and fluffy kitties. Being around our pets helps to release the happy hormone oxytocin and relieves stress.

Yes to ALL the food! Rustle up a feast in the kitchen or order in your favourite takeaway food and enjoy a cosy night in, just you and your McNuggets. Or pizza, Chinese, Wagamama’s… the world is your tasty oyster!

What feel-good activity never fails to make YOU smile? Tell us on our socials using the #HumpDayHappy. Don’t forget to join us tomorrow for a spot of Thursday Therapy!
